Guide · Selling from home
Can I sell baked goods from home in North Carolina?
Yes, with limits — North Carolina allows some baked goods but prohibits others.
NCDA&CS allows baked goods that do not require refrigeration, but bakery products with cream or cream cheese fillings and cheesecakes are high-risk and not permitted. "Moist" breads/cakes, some pies, and homemade cream cheese frostings may require pH or water-activity testing.

Status is derived from North Carolina's official allowed and prohibited foods lists. Even when a food is allowed, you still must meet that state's permit, labeling, and sales-channel rules.
